Pirouetting into the 1984 miners’ strike in North East England, Engadine Musical Society is thrilled to present BILLY ELLIOT in October 2024 at Engadine Community Centre.

BILLY ELLIOT is the inspirational story of a young boy's struggle against the odds to make his dream come true. Follow Billy's journey as he stumbles out of the boxing ring and into a ballet class, where he discovers a passion for dance that inspires his family and community... and changes his life forever.

Based on the international smash-hit film, and featuring a score by music legend Elton John, Billy Elliot is an astonishing theatrical experience with the heart, humour and passion, named TIME Magazine's "Best Musical of the Decade!"

In the spirit of reconciliation Engadine Musical Society acknowledges the Dharawal people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we perform and gather. We recongise the Dharawal people’s continuing connection to the land, the sea and the community. We pay our respect to the Elders both past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today. We acknowledge the First Peoples of Australia as the first storytellers. May their stories and songlines continue to flow through this country.
