Thank you to all our auditionees. The panel were thoroughly entertained with the talent presented and were especially impressed by the enthusiasm and passion of our youngest auditionees.

We encourage those who didn't make it to the merry land of Oz this time to continue to pursue their passion.

SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET

Engadine Musical Society is excited to announce the first show of our 2027 season, Sweeney Todd: the Demon Barber of Fleet Street!

This tale follows the story of Benjamin Barker, a talented barber on his journey back to London after being sent to Australia on false criminal charges.

Upon his return he finds his wife destroyed and his daughter imprisoned. Consumed by vengeance, he assumes the alias of Sweeney Todd and dives into murderous madness with the help of a local pragmatic pie-shop owner Mrs Lovett.

Based on the novel by Hugh Wheeler, Sweeney Todd: the Demon Barber of Fleet Street premiered on Broadway in 1979, winning eight Tony awards including Best Musical.

We are calling for Expression of Interest for all Production Team Positions, including Director, Musical Director, Choreographer and any Assistant positions.

- Your CV (with relevant experience to the position you’re applying for)
- A short cover note explaining why you’d love to be a part of the Sweeney Todd PT.
- What skills you will bring to the team
- A short outline of your vision for the production (500 words maximum)
