CHILD SAFETY

Engadine Musical Society, has since its inception in 1976, been welcoming and inclusive of families, including children, and we wish to continue to be an organisation reflective of inclusive and safe practices.

We acknowledge the safety of all children is the responsibility of the whole community. The welfare of minors in our care when participating in the operation of The Society is of the highest priority and we have zero tolerance towards any form of neglect or abuse.

We are committed to creating and maintaining a child safe and child friendly organisation where all minors feel valued and protected. We want them and their carers (parent/guardian) to know that we will listen to them respectfully and advocate for their right to feel safe.

Child Safe Policy

The purpose of this policy is to outline to members, volunteers, suppliers, patrons and other relevant stakeholders the framework The Society has adopted for the safety of children within our organisation.

The Policy is guided by the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.

The policy aims to:
- demonstrate the Society’s commitment to the safety and welfare of children and young people
- minimise the risk of abuse, misconduct and misuse of positional power
- inform all members and volunteers of their obligations and responsibilities in keeping children safe.

We are committed to promoting child safety, in accordance with the Children’s Guardian Act 2019 (NSW)

PRIVACY POLICY

In the spirit of reconciliation Engadine Musical Society acknowledges the Dharawal people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we perform and gather. We recongise the Dharawal people’s continuing connection to the land, the sea and the community. We pay our respect to the Elders both past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today. We acknowledge the First Peoples of Australia as the first storytellers. May their stories and songlines continue to flow through this country.
